Artistic expression for self-knowledge

When a flower stem breaks through the soil in order to find sunlight you observe a movement. It is movement of physical nature that is absolutely essential in changing this Being’s form: from a stem into a flower!

Humans can live this exact situation of growth. It is a fact that your Body can act like the stem, it can pierce through all ground that stands between who U are and the Person U need, want and must Be.
Movement and Physical awareness are absolutely essential to Inner Consciousness.

This is the process in Life Mentoring with Artistic expression for self-knowledge where we use MindFulness Movement, body expression and acting techniques.

LIFE MENTORING 4 Artists - "Art Mentoring"

"heARTh is a way of Living" - P.Proff

We will stand beside you as you discover and work to build the most important form of ART: the best person and artist that you can be.

The concept and method of Art Mentoring comes from a passion, a calling and more than 20 years of experience and formation in the areas of health and art.

Artists due to their sensitivity and a lot of stress in the creative process, are individuals who need to be monitored to maintain a balance in general and their health. In ART MENTORING, we have an equal priority to make it happen, with a healthy balance, the projects/goals of each artist.

Artists may create or develop art pieces; but it is extremely difficult for the artist alone to develop his career, his own image, if the artistic process is a lonely process, the development process of an artist is not. In particular, the art mentor is in charge of the Artist, his well-being and his Artwork globally, overall visual appearance and how it communicates visually, stimulates moods, contrasts features, and psychologically appeals to a target audience. The art mentor makes decisions with the artist and always with his personal objective in mind, the art mentor makes it happen, more than a manager, art dealer or art producer who, the main focus is the commercial area, the Art Mentor main focus is in the global health and balance of the artist as well as its’ image and balance as a human being, this way everything is possible and the artist can put more focus in his art work.

One of the most difficult problems that the artists face is to translate desired moods, messages, concepts, and underdeveloped ideas into imagery, here is crucial the support and tutoring of the Art Mentor. During the brainstorming process, artist and Mentor are engaged in imagining what the finished piece, performance, book or exhibition might look like, as well as its’ image and emotional, social, psychological and physical health.

At times, an art mentor is ultimately responsible for solidifying the vision of the collective imagination while resolving a conflicting agenda and inconsistencies between the various individual inputs.

From Math to your Life - A discussion on Perspective - by Sofia Naik

"Science is a refinement of thinking towards the best of yoUr every day" - P.Proff

From Math to your Life - A discussion on Perspective - by Sofia Naik

Daily life imposes situations to every person.
Decisions have to be made and they gravelly impact our health, our peace, our emotional status.

In making choices all of the following aspects are crucial:

  • how we face a situation and then proceed to evaluate it
  • the decisions that we take in order to address the situation
  • how we define what is important to us
  • how we establish the goal that reflects a good outcome when facing an issue in life
  • the action plan that we construct to reach this goal
  • how we manage the fact that there is no predefined path from where we stand towards a good outcome
  • the work ethics and practice that we follow regarding the action plan
  • the way in which we compromise with the plan, with the goal, with ourselves
  • the clarity that we apply when evaluating our work towards the goal
  • the inner learning that we obtain from this work process

All of us have heard or read about concepts that ground our ability to face, address, solve situations, questions, issues in life. Concepts such as: perspective in decision processes, keeping aware, being conscious of the path that exists between making a choice and reaching its desired outcome, being flexible in reasoning, being clear in thought, being structured while working towards the goal that was set, being conscious about expectation.

The point here is: what do these concepts actually mean? How can a person see in real and simple terms their effectiveness?

At Life Mentoring Group® we believe that Science, Mathematics in particular, can show you how these ideas work in issue solving, how important they are in daily life.
Furthermore, we believe that Math provides you with a personal, inner structure that will empower you to apply these concepts whenever an issue arises.

Perspective is defined as the way in which objects appear to the eye. Let us apply a simple exercise in order to explore the importance of  perspective in decision making.

Image1
Consider the gambling cube, pictured on Image1. Our point is the following: the position that you hold with respect to this object, determines that you can only see 3 of the cube's 6 faces. This means that your knowledge on this object's characteristics is limited to one-halfAs an immediate consequence of where you stand, the information that you get on this issue is impaired, you have compromised therefore your reasoning on the matter and your decision making as well.
Let us proceed with Image 2 in order to show you that perspective can lead you to even more severe loss of information on any life situation.
Image2
Notice that you can only see one face of the cube's 6 faces: 5 out of the 6 characteristics of the question are beyond your grasp, due to perspective. Second, remark that the object in  Image 2 could be a square instead of a cube. This means that your position is not allowing you to be sure about the nature of the object involved: a cube is an object with volume, a square is flat like a piece of paper.
From this simple example we conclude that the position in which you stand with respect to an issue is fundamental in perspective. In fact, the information that you get while looking at a simple object (a gambling cube!) can be significantly impaired, damaged due to  your positioning.
We want to keep you aware that perspective, understanding of a question and decision making is  largely dependent on your effort to observe a situation from all possible angles.
Finally, notice that often we have communication difficulties with others because their perspective is different from ours. It could be a matter of upbringing, of culture, of language, their emotional state, their memories … Step into the other person’s position, because that movement will bring you knowledge of what they are seeing and consequently will help you understand them.
This is how Math is applied to Science and Life  Mentoring® A final note: whenever you are in doubt about the meaning or relevance of perspective in your life, just remember about this simple game with a cube. It is so easy and (I surely hope so) fun.

Surf and Ocean X Cystic Fibrosis

To some people, surfing is a way of life. From birth, they are taught that the ocean is a resource, a place of healing, and something you never turn your back on. The lives of most surfers consists of traveling around the world in search of the perfect waves. They have built careers from it. Without the ocean, their lives would be incomplete. To cystic fibrosis patients, the ocean is something entirely different, it is a way to prolong their lives. For years, researchers have explored the connection between Cystic Fibrosis and the ocean. It was noted that in Australia, kids with Cystic Fibrosis who surfed all the time had better lung functions then the kids who where not in the ocean on a regular basis. They attributed this to the fact that the oceans high content of saline helps expel the secretions from the lungs. In 2007, brothers, James and Charles Dunlop read an article about this connection. Being life long surfers themselves, decided to do something about it. It started first as just a simple idea: Get kids with cystic fibrosis surfing. What resulted was something incredible. Cystic fibrosis patients have to schedule their lives around hours of breathing treatments, chest therapy, and about 45 pills a day in order to stay healthy. Surfing is the one treatment that has proven to help cystic fibrosis patients more than ever. The oceans high content of saline acts as a natural lubricant which clears their lungs and makes breathing easier.
